O Dia Internacional da Família é
celebrado anualmente a 15 de maio.
A data foi escolhida pela
Assembleia Geral da ONU, que proclamou o dia 15 de maio como o Dia
Internacional da Família.
A celebração do Dia Internacional
da Família visa, entre outros objetivos, destacar:
v a
importância da família na estrutura do núcleo familiar e o seu relevo na base
da educação infantil;
v reforçar
a mensagem de união, amor, respeito e compreensão necessárias para o bom
relacionamento de todos os elementos que compõem a família;
v chamar
a atenção da população para a importância da família como núcleo vital da
sociedade e para seus direitos e responsabilidades;
v sensibilizar
e promover o conhecimento relacionado com as questões sociais, económicas e
demográficas que afetam a família.
O primeiro Dia Internacional da
Família foi celebrado em 1994.

The date was chosen by the UN General Assembly,
which proclaimed May 15 as International Family Day.
The celebration of the International Family Day
aims, among other objectives, to highlight:
v the importance of the family in the
structure of the family nucleus and its importance in the base of the children
education;
v reinforce the message of union,
love, respect and understanding necessary for the good relationship of all the
elements that make up the family;
v to draw the attention of the
population to the importance of the family as the vital nucleus of society and
to its rights and responsibilities;
v raise awareness and promote
knowledge related to the social, economic and demographic issues affecting the
family.
The first International Family Day was
celebrated in 1994.
